Over Time Exemption Audit

According to the Employment Act, an employee is allowed to work a maximum of 72 hours of overtime (OT) per month. Any overtime work that exceeds 72 hours per month requires an approved WSH auditor's endorsement to be submitted to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

A Overtime Exemption Audit has the objective of assessing the risk levels of work activities that are required to be performed beyond 12 hours each day in an organization. Audits such as this are only applicable to organizations that apply for overtime exemptions.

Audits will be performed by MOM Approved Auditors employed by an Approved Auditing Organization. Among the areas covered by the assessment are interviews with key personnel and verification of risk control measures within the management system.
