Difficulties in Confined Space
Hazards found in a well-planned workspace can also be found in a confined space. However, they can be even more dangerous in a confined space than in a well-planned worksite.
Difficulties in confined spaces can include:
- Poor air nature:
There may be a limited amount of oxygen for the workers to breathe. The atmosphere might carry a fatal material that could make the worker sick or even cause the worker to lose consciousness.
- Fire hazard:
There may be an unstable/burnable atmosphere due to flammable liquids and gases and explosive dust which if ignited would lead to fire or explosion.
