Duties of Rigger cum Signalman
The Rigger and Signalman aimed at providing individuals with the knowledge and skills to prepare and to tie the load for safe lifting by any form of lifting equipment using correct and clear signals to guide the crane operator in the care of a load safely to its destination.
Duties of Rigger cum signalman:
- Check slings
- Check load
- Check lifting gears
- Ensure load lifted is safe and balanced
- Ensure loose loads are secured
- Report defective lifting gear to Lifting Supervisor
- Use paddings on the load edges
- Check load is properly rigged
- Give correct crane hand signals
