How Business Under Surveillance (BUS) Program works

17-May-2023 13:24 PM

This BUS programme is split into two phases: Assessment and Surveillance.

In the assessment phase, MOM's Occupational Safety and Health Division (OSHD) will conduct a eleborate review on the company's risk assessment and management system. If the company fails the assessment, it will goes under surveillance.

In the surveillance phase, the company's management must develop and perform to a comprehensive and sustainable action plan.

The company is responsible for implementing their Action Plan and reports its progress regularly to OSHD. The OSHD Surveillance Branch also conducts repeated supervisions to verify the progress made.

The company will exit from the programme when it demonstrates significant growth in its WSH performance and management, and shows that it has plans to build a robust WSH culture within the company.
