How does a scaffolding supervisor perform their duties?
Ensure scaffolding is assembled properly and safely by hiring crews, supervising assembly and disassembly, and overseeing scaffolding assembly and disassembly. Construction site supervisors and scaffolding supervisors work together to estimate the number of scaffolding sections needed to complete a project and to coordinate the scaffolding's arrival on site.
The scaffolding supervisor also determines how many workers will be needed onsite to assemble the scaffolding. Safety standards must be adhered to when scaffolding is assembled by the supervisor. It is up to the supervisor to remove the scaffolding after the job is completed.
Typically, scaffolding supervisors work for larger construction or supply companies. Supervisors can, however, go out on their own and become subcontractors. Not only does the scaffolding supervisor ensure scaffolds are set up and taken down safely, but he or she also protects the job site and the workers constructing them.
In addition, supervisors are responsible for writing reports that detail their team's performance, the scaffolding's condition, and the job site's overall condition. This daily report must be received by the business owner.
