Purpose of Water Efficiency Management System(SS577:2012 )
Water Efficiency Management System SS577:2012 is intended to help organizations to assess their water usage, plan and implement measures to achieve water savings through systematic management of water, and account for their water consumption.
As part of its strategy for sustainable water management, the Public Utilities Board (PUB) encouraged companies to use innovative approaches to water management in order to minimize water consumption.
Among large water users, including commercial buildings and industrial premises that consumed 60,000 cubic meters or more in the previous year, PUB now requires that they notify them, install private water meters, and prepare annual Water Efficiency Management Plans (WEMPs).
