Responsibilities of Facility Technicians:
Biomanufacturing buildings and equipment are maintained and operated by Facilities Technicians.
Daily operations are monitored by them.
Among their responsibilities are heating, lighting, refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing, water purification, air filtration, and electrical systems.
Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting are performed by Facilities Technicians.
Whenever an equipment or system breaks, they repair it.
It is imperative that they document everything they do.
New systems must be understood, recommended, and installed by a Facilities Technician.
Assist engineers in evaluating new equipment and technologies by providing and adding corrections to Standard Operating Procedures.
In the event that equipment or components need to be replaced, they do so.
A solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs), as well as knowledge of major trades, such as carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration, is required.
Inspections are conducted regularly by Facilities Technicians to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and requirements.
For reporting purposes, they keep accurate records.
In addition to floor and facility cleaning, snow removal, and landscaping, they may also perform interior maintenance.
