What is the need for this?
According to SS586 hazardous goods are classified according to how they present hazardous conditions. Standard DG labels for hazard communication are also specified.
On land in Singapore, dangerous goods must be stored and transported according to this regulation. No coverage is provided for the transportation of dangerous goods by sea or air.

Hazard communication guidelines are provided for hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods, along with guidelines for labeling requirements.

Description The Standard for Hazard Communication for Hazardous Chemicals and Dangerous Goods is divided into three parts:

     Part 1: Transportation and storage of dangerous goods;

     Part 2: Globally Harmonized System of Labeling and Classification of Chemicals: Singapore Adaptation; and

    Part 3: Preparation of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
