Behaviour Based Safety Management System
BBS involves observing employee behavior to provide management and employees with information about overall workplace safety. Workers' attention should be devoted to safety behavior throughout the day. By improving employee safety, BBS reduces employee accidents in an organization.

How should observation be conducted?
In BBS programs, employers train observers to review other employees' behaviors (on-site personnel trained in safety reviews). They also note the working conditions in a safe and unsafe workplace, as well as observing safe and unsafe workplace behaviors. Employees are informed of these observations, and feedback is provided to them. The provision of positive feedback is encouraged. Employers gain a greater understanding of how to perform their tasks safely when they are offered suggestions on how to perform them. A continuous exchange of feedback between employees and observers is used to continuously improve BBS. BBS programs are then assessed based on the data collected by safety professionals.
