The Singapore Standards Council, in collaboration with key stakeholders from government agencies and industry, have developed Singapore Standard SS 577 on Water Efficiency Management Systems to help organizations better manage their water usage.
By implementing systematic management of water, SS577:2012 helps organizations calculate their water use and account for it, as well as plan and implement water-saving measures. In addition to frameworks and guidelines, SS577:2012 also includes tools and best practices water users can use to improve the efficiency of their water usage.
For equipment, systems, processes, and personnel that can contribute to water efficiency, SS577:2012 specifies monitoring, measurement, documentation, and reporting requirements.
SS577:2012 water efficiency standard assists organizations in preparing for their Water Efficiency Management Plan (WEMP), which identifies water saving measures and helps establish a plan for water management.
