Resident Engineer (RE) Closed
Requirements
- Registered as RE with Institution Engineers of Singapore;
- The Resident Engineer (RE) shall at least possess 8 years of relevant working experience preferably works in an operational environment (e.g. airport/hospital/hotel projects);
- is a professional engineer in the civil or structural engineering discipline registered under the Professional Engineers Act (cap. 253);
- Possesses a university degree or any other professional qualification recognized by the Professional Engineers Board for registration as a professional engineer under the Professional Engineers Act in the civil or structural engineering discipline; or
- Possesses a postgraduate master's degree or doctoral degree in
- Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from any university recognized by the Professional Engineers Board for registration as a professional engineer under the Professional Engineers Act; or
- is a Chartered Engineer registered by the Engineering Council United Kingdom in the Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering discipline; or
- Possesses a university degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from any university that is specified by the Commissioner of Building Control and has at least one year of relevant postgraduate practical experience in design or construction
Responsibilities
- The Resident Engineer shall perform all duties required under the Building Control Act and to see that the provisions of the contract are faithfully adhered to;
- Work closely with the Qualified Person (Design) to resolve all design and technical issues arising from the construction of Permanent works including foundation works (Bored piling & RC piling), RC superstructures and metal roof installation;
- Supervise all project activities and ensure compliance to all plans and specifications and identify all errors in plans and ensure optimal working of construction personnel;
- Manage and maintain accurate field notes and maintain flow of technical information and prepare comprehensive assessment / progress reports;
- Oversee a team of RTO(s) and WSHC(s) and assist to resolve all construction process and recommend improvement to all construction activities and ensure compliance to specifications and construction schedule; and
- Oversee the construction safety aspect of the works to ensure compliance with rules and regulations set by relevant Authorities and agencies.
